About Ebiko

Fresh sushi to go, nigiri, and Japanese snacks

Located at 4150 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, CA 94611, Ebiko operates as a japanese serving Oakland in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under japanese grocery store, sushi takeaway, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Oakland, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 am–5 pm. It is closed on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (510) 903-6506. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is ebikosushi.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

While pricese were a bit higher than I expected for the portion size, the quality was surprisingly good for take-out sushi. We spent over $60 on two omakase selections, 1 tiny uni don, 1 tiny toro don, and really small seaweed salad. I wish they sold the scallop nigri a la carte because that was one of my favorite omakase items! Also liked one of the salmon in the omakase better than the other salmon (it looked like 2 different salmon were used). Husband raved about the toro pieces in the toro don and I enjoyed the uni don.

Had gotten this recommended online so I ordered delivery via (Uber Eats) - it’s a takeout spot so I didn’t expect much. The taste and quality was amazing. Value for the selection and choice was so unexpected.

All the food looks amazing! Unfortunately, a most of the fishes on the nigiri was kind of tasteless so it's hard to distinguish between the pieces. I didn't like the fish eggs because it was slightly fishy - this might be my personal palette though. The eel with avocado and cucumbers was really tasty. Note, I suggest looking at what you're purchasing because the fish pieces might slightly differ in size. And for the price your paying, you probably want the bigger pieces like how I would.

Who needs overpriced omakase when you can get an Ebiko spread at home. I've been visiting Ebiko for years, and the quality is consistently amazing. This hidden gem is a sushi deli selling a small but very satisfying selection of rolls, nigiri, sashimi, chirashi, and vegetarian-friendly options, along with a handful of Japanese grocery store items. There's also a kaisen hand roll party tray available for pre-order--it's a beautiful work of art that comes with edible flowers, but I personally prefer a la cart because I'm not a huge fan of uni and ebi. I wish they had customizable options for the party tray, but I'm already highly satisfied with the a-la-carte offerings. My go-to's, although you really can't go wrong: - omakase nigiri set - salmon aburi (seared to melt-in-your goodness, my personal favorite) - unagi nigiri (unagi is so fresh and the cuts are generous) - California roll (ft real snow crab) Notes: - No seating area, but I heard that you can bring your food to eat at Tea on Piedmont across the street - Metered street parking, not impossible to find a spot but may have to circle around - Staff are friendly and efficient at check-out - They don't charge extra for a bag

My sister and I went on a little fridate and stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere new to walk around and try. We’ve heard of Ebiko in SF but never had the chance to go since it’s usually packed, so we were excited to find the Oakland location with much less of a crowd. The prices were really reasonable, especially considering how fresh everything was. We absolutely fell in love with the torched salmon belly and the uni ikura bowl. This is definitely a must-try for sushi lovers, you won’t be disappointed. I’d for sure come back again with my sister when we get the chance.
